This transcription is based on João Gilberto’s guitar playing on the classic Getz/Gilberto recording of The Girl from Ipanema, recorded in 1963 and released as a single in 1964.
 
The transcription is in D♭ major, the key used on the original recording, my aim here was to learn João Gilberto’s characteristic bossa nova guitar accompaniment, including the chord voicings, bass movement, and rhythmic patterns heard on the recording.
